My Story

Golden Thistle Memorials founder

Created from love, loss and the desire to keep memories close

Golden Thistle Memorials was born from my own experience of losing two very special dogs — my beloved German Shepherd boys.

When they passed away, I remember the sadness of bringing them home from the crematorium in a box. Although their ashes were there, it felt as though none of their personality was. They were so much more than that box.

I wanted something beside their caskets that reflected who they were — something beautiful and personal that would bring back memories of the characters, companionship and love they had given me.

That was where the idea for Golden Thistle Memorials began.

I wanted to create meaningful keepsakes that could help keep those memories alive — something you could look at, hold onto and treasure.

I was also inspired by the pawprints that are often provided after a pet has been cremated. I wanted to transform those precious prints into something that could be carried with you every day, rather than kept away in a box.

From that idea, Golden Thistle Memorials grew to include personalised memorial keepsakes for both beloved pets and loved ones.

Every memory matters

I understand that when you’re creating something to remember someone you love, every detail matters.

That’s why I take great care and attention with every piece I create. Where applicable, I provide a proof or visual design before your keepsake is completed, giving you the opportunity to check every detail and make sure it feels right for you.

My aim isn’t simply to create a product.

It’s to create something meaningful that honours their memory — something that reflects the love, the personality and the memories that made them so special.

I know that nothing can take away the pain of losing someone you love.

But if something I create can help, even just a little, by giving you something beautiful to hold onto and keep close, then that is what Golden Thistle Memorials is all about.

Because every memory deserves to be kept close.
